In this workshop we want to focus on technical problems related to the construction and operation of mines and tunnels, including mine heap investigations. One of the key factors in mining and tunneling is the mechanical properties of the rock mass. Stress changes due to excavation affect those properties and cause rock fracturing and increased safety, technical and economic risks. Geophysical exploration and monitoring technologies may help recognize potential risks.
